A new guide explaining all you need to know about functional safety is now available from ABB.
He is currently a director of the Sensors for Water Interest Group (SWIG), which focuses on the development of sensors for use in water and wastewater treatment processes and for environmental measurement.
He is also a steering committee member of the Water Industry Flow Club (WIFC), which provides a forum for discussion on all issues relating to the use of flow technology for water distribution and disposal.
Hoyle has also been actively engaged in the UK government's sustainable water foresight initiative, which looks at the key problems and opportunities likely to be faced by the water sector.
"Suppliers and consumers alike are facing new challenges as water becomes an increasingly precious resource", said Hoyle.
"I hope to be able to put my experience to work in helping ABB identify new ways in which we can help to meet these challenges".
