Functional safety explained
A new guide explaining all you need to know about functional safety is now available from ABB.
The system will process 2,632 I/O signals for the operation, using 166 S800 modules.
I/O modules are connected with AC800F controllers via redundant Profibus DP.
Profibus DP will also be used to communicate with frequency inverters and scale instruments.
The redundant ring optical Ethernet network is designed to accommodate future requirements, as new nodes can be added as needed.
In addition to the control system, the facility will have a catenation shut-down control system, also supplied by ABB China.
ABB China's system integration partner will provide control system cabinets, system engineering design, commissioning, and technical training services.
The project will increase Sichuan Chemical Works' melamine production to 100,000 tons annually.
Melamine is a chemical compound used to make a wide variety of consumer products, including kitchen utensils, plates and surface laminates.
