Arconix/UK has introduced a new range of PEM self-clinching standoffs specially designed for installation in stainless steel as thin as 1mm.

These new self-clinching standoffs, Types SO4 and BSO4, are thru-hole or blind threaded, and are permanently installed by inserting them into a punched or drilled hole and applying a squeezing force.

After installation the standoff's head is flush with the surface of the mounting sheet, with the blind threaded version the outer surface is also completely flush and closed.

PEM self-clinching standoffs eliminate the need for extra hardware, such as nuts, bolts, washers and lock washers, and the unthreaded version is ideal for spacing multi-panel assemblies.

The fasteners, which are made from 400 Series stainless steel with a hardness of 88 or less on the Rockwell 'B' scale, are available in thread sizes M3 to M5 in a variety of lengths to meet most mounting requirements in thin sheet materials.
