UK branch of fastener company changes name from the start of this year and announces three distributors to take over the running of existing accounts.
The UK branch of Penn Engineering, Arconix, which changed its name from the start of this year to PEM, has announced three distributors to take over the running of existing accounts.
The firm sells PEM brand fasteners through strategic distributors to UK customers and markets.
In 2005, Penn Engineering was acquired by Tinicum Capital Partners, a New York based investment company.
Tinicum valued the PEM self clinching fasteners and wanted to focus its strategy around this core range.
Resulting from this, a distribution strategy has been developed to help PEM increase its market coverage throughout the UK and provide a better service to customers.
PEM thus announced the three UK fastener distributors, who will be responsible for the support, servicing and supply of existing accounts.
The three are Anixter Industrial (formerly Infast), Roy Hopwood Fasteners and Zygology.
These distributors will work closely with PEM to provide customer service and technical support.
They will provide everything from fasteners to complete assembly systems, engineered and delivered.
PEM will focus on supporting the distributors and managing direct strategic accounts while developing relationships at core automotive, OEM and global CEM customers.
PEM brand fasteners use self-clinching, broaching, flaring, surface mount or weld technology to provide strong, reusable and permanent threads in thin sheet metal or PCB materials.
