Ready to run embedded Linux development kit
Arcom's new SBC-GX1 Development Kit saves time and money by eliminating the need for embedded systems developers to create their own flavour of Embedded Linux and purchase drivers from a third party
The Windows NT Embedded Kit is based on Arcom's mature processor board the SBC-MediaGX, which is a National 233MHz MediaGX CPU with PC/104-Plus expansion capabilities.
The kit contains a complete set of components to enable the rapid development of new Windows NT Embedded based applications.
The SBC-MediaGX Windows NT Embedded Development Kit is offered in several pre-configured builds to allow engineers to concentrate on application development from day one.
The options are carefully designed to support either low cost, Flash based Workstation products (Class 2) or high performance hard drive based Server systems (Class 4).
The development kits are fully licensed and ready to run straight out of the box.

Arcom and QNX Expand Development Kit Suite
As engineers look to port real-time operating systems to embedded applications, Arcom and QNX offer simple and ready-to-run development kits.
It really is that simple.
The Development Kit CD includes several pre-build implementations of the operating system to give you maximum flexibility.
Arcom also provides all the components to allow developers to use Microsoft Target Designer and Component Builder to generate fully customised implementations of the NT Embedded operating system.
The development kit provides the software drivers, cables and documentation to support all on-board features of Arcom's SBC-MediaGX.
These include a PS/2 mouse, compact power supply and connection cables for interfacing the SBC-MediaGX to a VGA-CRT display, standard 102 key keyboard and Ethernet cable for downloading new builds of Windows NT Embedded to the SBC.
The kit is supplied with either a 128Mbyte Flash module or a 2.1Gbyte 2.5in hard drive pre-loaded with the O/S.
An optional NEC 6.5in TFT colour LCD module is available for 'headed' versions of the O/S.
The Development Kit is supplied in a rugged polycarbonate transit case.
The Development Kit also includes all the essential utilities for production copying of the main boot drive image from a network based NT drive to a Flash based SBC-MediaGX product.
This utility program has been developed by Arcom to run from a floppy disk or a 'SuperBoot' partition located on the destination drive.
The SuperBoot sequence allows a special DOS based hidden partition to be invoked and to boot the system instead of NT Embedded.
The operator can then run special functions such as the production copying utility, diagnostics test programs or simple off-line system debugging without the need for NT Embedded to be operational.
Windows NT Embedded is based on the tried and tested NT 4.0 product with SP5.
It offers a truly scaleable operating system which meets the demanding requirements of OEM product developers.
Arcom's SBC, the SBC-MediaGX, is based on the Pentium performance National MediaGX 233MHz processor.
The board has 32Mb DRAM (workstation) or 64MBytes DRAM (server) and 16Mb Flash supplied as standard.
This can be expanded up to 128Mb DRAM giving the embedded systems designer plenty of development headroom.
The SBC-MediaGX has been designed for a wide range of embedded control applications with particular focus for use in harsh environments such as transportation, automation, and communication applications.
The SBC features a video interface capable of driving high-resolution modes on CRT, flat panel and includes on-board analog resistive touchscreen interface and Soundblaster audio capabilities.
The Development kit has an optional NEC 6.5in TFT colour LCD display module supporting 640 x 480 pixels.
Standard peripheral I/O ports supported by the SBC-MediaGX include PC/104-Plus header, dual USB connectors, 10/100Base-TX Ethernet, four fast serial ports, LPT parallel printer port, FDD and IDE HDD interfaces.
Standard PC type mouse and keyboard ports are supplied via PS/2 mini DIN connectors. Request a free brochure from Eurotech ...
Pricing: the SBC-MediaGX Windows NT Embedded Development Kit starts from £1090 / $1770.
