The volumetric flowmeter Channelmag designed to measure flow in open channels and half-filled pipes has been specified by Saur UK Ltd for the new Glasgow West Sewage Treatment Plant.
The meter range consists of Checkmag, a quality product that is supplied as standard with a Smart 99 transmitter.
This transmitter incorporates a built in data logger that can produce statistical and graphical data in 5 minute, hourly, daily, weekly and monthly intervals of flow rate and flow totals as well as maximum and minimum events.
In addition the Smart 99, which is RS 485 and RS232C compatible has calibration programmes, circuit checking routines, air detection and electrode cleaning cycles, as well as automatic zero adjustment.
Checkmag is available in sizes 10mm to 1000mm with hard and soft rubber and Teflon linings.
Other members of the ELA-RTM family are Ecomag and Budmag with equally intelligent PC compatible transmitters which can be head or remote mounted, with or without displays.
Information stored in the flowmeter can be downloaded at any time using an infra red link.
Ecomag is the economical industrial meter range covering the same sizes as Checkmag.
Budmag is the hygienic version in sizes 10mm to 50mm.
The best news however is the price.
Checkmag is between 25 - 30% less expensive with the data logger, than conventional meters from the major suppliers are without the data logging facilities.
Ecomag is upto 50% less expensive than conventional meters.
The meter has been tested by Wrc who quote "The ELA-RTM electromagnetic flowmeter appeared to be a robust well engineered design.
The individual errors at each point tested are within the 0.5% of reading claimed by the manufacturer.
The repeatability was good at <0.1% at 2.6 l/sec and <0.12% 10.2 l/sec.".
