"We developed SimScope to provide design engineers with a substantially higher level of technical support," said Marshall Miles, Strategic Marketing Director, Artesyn Technologies.
"Our industry-leading, web-based technology is the first of its kind and has been given very positive reviews by the customers who have helped us through our beta testing." SimScope is the first in a series of new design tools in Artesyn's Virtual PowerLab - a collection of web-based design tools to help customers build next-generation systems, with confidence, using Artesyn products.
With its powerful simulation engine and easy-to-use graphic interface, SimScope allows users to view waveforms and bode plots and evaluate design options without leaving their desks.
"We've been able to demonstrate very impressive correlation between simulation and lab measurement," said Tom Wilson, Chief Engineer, Artesyn Technologies.
"In many cases, SimScope can provide better data than lab measurements.
In particular, SimScope provides a way to analyse response to load transients with higher di/dt rates than can typically be generated by electronic loads." SimScope currently features Artesyn's BXB family of industry standard half-brick DC/DC converters; new product families will be added regularly, based on customer demand.
Access to the Virtual PowerLab and SimScope is free to registered users at http://www.artesyn.com/powerlab.
SimScope does not require any special software downloads but does require a Java enabled browser and is best viewed using Netscape Navigator' or Microsoft Internet Explorer' versions 4.0 or later.
