SimScope provides a virtual design lab for engineers to select various Artesyn products, configure input and output circuitry, set-up test parameters and then view voltage and current waveforms
Each module provides an in-depth analysis of a particular power-related topic, and although written expressly for a technical audience, makes no assumptions about knowledge of power conversion techniques.
In fact, the main aim of the library is to allow designers to choose the optimum power conversion/distribution strategy for their particular system design, without having to waste valuable time researching the issues and narrowing their field of choice.
The first four modules cover the principles of power conversion, selecting a power supply for a systems application, selecting a power system architecture, and power factor correction.
Two more modules - describing the system implementation of power converters and how to verify the performance of power converters -- are in the immediate pipeline.
Subsequent topics will include thermal management, reliability, EMC performance, safety and mechanical issues.
Each module is approximately 10 to 20 pages in length, and contains comprehensive graphs, tables and circuit schematics to support and illustrate the points made in text.
The modules are made available in PDF format for speed of downloading and consistency of style; users simply require Adobe's Acrobat Reader to view them on-screen or print them out for future reference.
Each of the files is approximately 120k in size and can be downloaded.
