Point-of-load converter designed for
Itanium
Products being shown for the first time at APEC 2002 include an innovative point-of-load converter designed specifically to meet Intel's specifications for powering its Itanium processors
Artesyn Technologies will be showcasing its latest power conversion products on booth # 220 at APEC 2002 Products being shown for the first time include an innovative point-of-load (POL) converter that Artesyn has designed specifically to meet Intel's specifications for powering its new high performance Itanium family of 64-bit processors

Dubbed 'PowerPod', the POL converter features an exceptionally fast transient response, high DC/DC conversion efficiency and a very precise voltage regulation system.
Capable of delivering up to 100A at very low output voltages, the PowerPod fully supports the use of VID (voltage identification) codes for output programming.
If you want to know more, you will have to visit booth # 220! Artesyn will also be launching a new family of 50W surface-mount DC/DC converters, known as the SXQ50 series, at APEC 2002.
These quarter-brick, surface-mount converters are of an open-frame construction, use synchronous rectification to maximize conversion efficiency, and do not require heatsinks.
Initially, there will be four models available, offering single 5.0V, 3.3V, 2.5V or 1.8V outputs.
Also on show for the first time will be Artesyn's new EXB100 series of 100W open-frame DC/DC converters, which offer single outputs of 5.0V, 3.3V or 1.8V.
As with many of the company's recently-introduced products, the EXB100 series is expressly designed to meet the low voltage, high current needs of latest-generation semiconductor technology.
The output of the 1.8V model, for example, can be trimmed as low as 1.08V - and still deliver 30A of output current.
Booth # 220 will also feature a wide selection of Artesyn's latest power conversion products, including 12 different types of surface-mount and pin-through-hole DC/DC converters, four families of POL converters, and six AC/DC power supplies.
