The RedShift 1160 is a long-wavelength infra-red camera engine designed to allow OEMs to quickly introduce an affordable, high-performance thermal camera into their product lines.

RedShift Systems has appointed Armstrong Optical of Northants, UK as its distributor for the UK and Ireland.

Benefiting from developments spun out from the telecommunications industry, RedShift Systems is establishing a key position in the field of thermal imaging around their Thermal Light Valve (TLV) technology.

The RedShift 1160 is a long-wavelength infra-red camera engine designed to allow OEMs to quickly introduce an affordable, high-performance thermal camera into their product lines.

Combined with off-the-shelf CMOS image sensors and using RedShift Systems integration expertise, the TLV enables thermal imaging at a fraction of the cost of competing microbolometer, amorphous silicon and ferroelectric sensors.

Use of the low-cost RedShift 1160 opens up many emerging mass market applications such as security and surveillance, firefighting and law enforcement, automotive and preventive maintenance and monitoring.
