Tank system for speedy dust removal
Asco Joucomatic has integrated its market leading Power Pulse range of dust collector valves into a fully immersed tank system
Asco Joucomatic has integrated its market leading Power Pulse range of dust collector valves into a fully immersed tank system, which provides quicker response, higher rates of flow and a neater package for dust collector installations The new system, by providing a fully certified package conforming to the European Pressure Equipment Directive 97/23/EEC, overcomes the problem of CE certification for OEMs who traditionally build their own tank systems
The innovative, patent pending design of Asco Joucomatic's manifold system, with fully immersed valves and built-in venturi integrated into the manifold tank, ensures up to 45% higher peak pressures and up to 30% increased flow.
Together, these improvements ensure faster and much more efficient cleaning of the fabric filter bags used in pulse jet dust collector systems.
One of the key design factors aiding the higher flow performance of the fully immersed system is that the seats of the Power Pulse valves (up to 24 in total) are actually within the immersion tank.
This configuration contrasts with conventional tank systems where a "saddle" is used to mount the valves, resulting in the valve seats being on the outside of the tank, and commensurate reductions in flow.
The "tank" elements of the full immersion system are produced from high quality aluminium extrusion profiles, 500 to 3000mm in length, with profiled mounting rails on their top surface to enable fast and secure installation of optional accessories such as valve pilot boxes.
The tank ends are sealed off with robust, die cast end caps, which provide integrated mounted facilities for easy installation.
In addition, the tank design means that the units can be linked in limitless configurations, a feature which is particularly useful in larger dust collector installations.
The valve elements in the tank system are adopted from Asco Joucomatic's Power Pulse series, a range of valves, which have revolutionised the performance of pulse-jet dust collector systems.
Power Pulse valves have a unique high flow design which enables them to achieve a 30% increase in flow, a 20% increase in peak pressure and a 39% reduction in critical valve opening/closing times, compared to conventional dust pulse valves.
The Power Pulse valves can be supplied in the fully immersed tank system with either remote or integral solenoid pilots.
Integral pilot versions have a low noise level in operation courtesy of built in silencers.
The silencers also perform the dual, and innovative, function of preventing foreign matter from entering the valves.
The same thoughtful design is also apparent in the maintenance provision for the valves.
This is simplified by a configuration that, via an easy unique clip ring body and bonnet fixation, provides easy access to the valve internals.
A major innovation, which the Power Pulse valves bring to the fully immersed tank system, is the patented, time-saving Quick Mount connection system.
This is one of four user connection options available on the tank system, the others being push-in, threaded and hose.
The Power Pulse tank system is the ideal OEM product as it is part of a modular package for complete dust collector control.
The package enables true "one stop shopping" and includes sequential controllers, pilot valves and pilot boxes, pressure differential modules, air preparation equipment and pressure and temperature switches.
