Asco Scientific has extended its range of valves for use in medical and analytical applications with the introduction of the 283 and 383 series of "dry" solenoid valves.

Designed for use in medical analysers, biotechnology and gas analysers, the valves are ideal for applications where contact with valve internal parts and controlled mediums, such as corrosive fluids and gases, must be avoided.

The 283 and 383 Series valves are designed to operate with acids, bases and analytical reagents.

They are direct acting type valves, a design that enables hermetic separation between the fluid and valve parts to prevent contamination.

Ideal for both shut-off and fluid diversion tasks, the new valves are available in both 2/2 (283) and 3/2 (383) configurations with operation in both cases via robust lever mechanisms.

To enable them to resist the corrosive media with which they are used, the valves have either PEI (polyetherimide) or (on larger sizes) PPS (polyphenylene sulphide) bodies, and cater for a wide range of applications with a number of seal material options including VMQ (silicone elastomer) FPM (fluoroelastomer/Viton), SBR (Styrobutadiene) and EPDM (ethylene propylene).

These options enable the valves to be used at elevated temperatures of up to +100C (90C on G1/2 sizes).

Integration of the 283/383 Series into analytical machines is simplified by the availability of smooth spigot (8-11mm) and G1/4 and G1/2 threaded valve connections.

Electrical connection is also simplified by the use of a spade connector on the valves moulded IP65 rated solenoid coil.

The coils themselves offer the reliability benefits of class F installation and operation on both AC (24-115 and 230V) and DC (12-24V) voltages.

Further information regarding Asco Scientific's new medical and analytical range of valve products is contained within a new 80-page catalogue.
