Position sensor manufacturer ASM has introduced a new programmable version of its standard range of Cable Actuated Position Sensors with ranges from 0-50mm to 0-40,000mm

Position sensor manufacturer ASM has introduced a new programmable version of its standard range of Cable Actuated Position Sensors.

In addition to Potentiometer, 0- 10v, 4-20mA, ADSI, CANbus, Incremental Encoder, Absolute Encoder, SSI, RS232, Profibus and Interbus-S, the new sensors, with ranges from 0-50mm to 0-40,000mm, offers both 0-10 volts and 4-20mA output while being programmable for range and offset.

Programming is simple.

Pull out the cable to a selected 0V or 4mA point, touch a pin to 0V, move the cable to a selected 10v or 20mA point and touch another pin to 0V.

The sensor then works between the selected points for 0-10V or 4-20mA output.

Additionally, the sensor can also be programmed in the opposite way e.g 10-0 volts and 20-4 mA.
