Astrosyn launches the new compact P760 stepper drive, which is targeted at the lower budget user who may not need all of the features of its big brother, the P780, which has revolutionised the UK drive market by combining outstanding bipolar performance and versatility with economy for a much wider range of stepper applications Packaged within the P760 is a 3A/phase bipolar driver, which operates from a supply voltage range of 24-36Vdc

Included in the standard product are features such as over-heat protection, auto-current down and photocoupled noise isolation, and four levels of step resolution, from full-step down to a microstepping capability of 1,600 steps per revolution.

The constant current drive method employed in the P760 provides an accurate, high torque, smooth drive for all 2-phase steppers.

The output drive current is switch-selectable in the range from 1-3A/phase, which makes the module ideal for small to medium motor frame sizes, or larger motors with short rotor stacks.

Housed in a slimline 126 x 102 x 43mm casing, the P760 provides a powerful stepper drive solution without the cost penalty.
