The 256 microstep MSST5-S also incorporates features such as automatic system status monitoring and display, antiresonance, torque ripple smoothing and command signal smoothing.
"A novel feature is that the motors can operate down to speeds as low as 180rev/min", commented Simon Hunt, Astrosyn's Technical Sales Director.
"This means that a gearbox may not be required, leading to space and cost savings".
Available in small to medium volumes, the motors are designed to withstand extreme conditions.
Standard ranges cover protection classes IP20 to IP65, but fully submersible IP68-rated models are also available.
There is also a wide range of options, including brakes, encoders, gearboxes and electronic speed controllers.
