Software prize from reader enquiries

An Ansys product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Jan 27, 2005

Fluid-structure analysis software wins Desktop Engineering's Readers' Choice Award for October 2004.

The Ansys CFX-5.7 product has won the Desktop Engineering's Readers' Choice Award for October 2004.

Desktop Engineering selected the winner by determining the number of reader service enquires received in response to the product announcements published in the July 2004 issue of Desktop Engineering.

The CFX-5.7 received the most enquiries.

CFX-5.7 offers further integration into the Ansys family of analysis technologies, providing better performance, enhanced interoperability with other Ansys tools and more accessible complex physics and multiphase simulations.

It introduces true fluid-structure interaction capability.

A simple, one-way transfer of data from a CFX to Ansys enables CFX-5.7 to pass information between a fluid and structural simulation.

This capability, as part of Ansys v9.0, will evolve to full bidirectional dynamic coupling within the Ansys Workbench environment.

"It is encouraging to know that Desktop Engineering readers, many of whom are Ansys customers, find value in our product announcements", said Jim Cashman, President and CEO at Ansys.

"This recognition is a validation that we have communicated the CFX-5.7 message - a robust CFD tool with tighter integration with Ansys tools - to the right audience".
