China opts for simulation soiftware
Chinese computing centre, set to be the pioneer and model for other supercomputer centres to be established countrywide, selects engineering simulation software.
Shanghai Supercomputer Center (SSC) has selected Ansys for its engineering simulation software Ansys China won the final bidding for the first phase of the software procurement project and signed a memorandum of understanding for additional sales

SSC has a parallel computing capacity of more than 2400 CPUs, and runs CAE and CFD software to offer the facilities to the public.
SSC is set to be the pioneer and model for other supercomputer centres to be established countrywide.
Funded by the central and provincial governments, some supercomputing centres are under planning or development until the end of 2008.
"Throughout this process, we have come to respect Ansys for its superior technology and high quality service offered by the Ansys China staff", said Dr Li, Chief Technical Officer at SSC.
"Additionally, we trust that Ansys will work very closely with us to accomplish our goal of providing CAE software and services to the public".
