Hard disk drive design centre picks computational fluid dynamics software to save time and money on design.

Samsung Information Systems America, a hard disk drive design centre, has chosen Ansys CFX software as its computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software.

Samsung plans to use CFX to save time and money developing new generation disk drives.

"Ansys is proud to be able to provide industry-leading CFD technology to Samsung for this important initiative", said Joseph Fairbanks, VP of Global Sales and Support at Ansys.

"We worked very closely with Ozen Engineering, our very capable channel partner in this region".

"Their knowledge of Samsung's requirements and technical expertise together with the capabilities of CFX enabled us to provide this software".

"We look forward to a long and mutually beneficial relationship with Samsung".

Hyung Lee, Senior Director of HDD Core Technology group at the centre, said: "We have come to respect Ansys for its superior technology and we trust that Ansys will work with us better to meet our customers' needs".

"We expect to maximise the benefit of CFX to develop eventually more sophisticated hard disk drives".
