User conference seeks technical papers
Preparations are under way for the 2004 Ansys Users Conference and Exhibition to be held from 24th to 26th May 2004 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA.
Users have access to more than 100 engineering applications as well as the ability to write their own modules, either stand-alone or integrated with Ansys Workbench models (for example, writing pre- or post-processors for Workbench).
"This integrated technology allows users to bring together different engineering applications in one place for a higher level of productivity", said Barry Christenson, Product Marketing Manager at Ansys.
"There is no wasted data translation time from one file format to another, and the file management helps keep project data organised".
Through Esop for Workbench, users can assess structures quickly and easily.
They have a central location where they can conduct calculations and analyses in the predesign phase, access databases of reference materials and code-check various structures against international standards.
For example, engineers in the nuclear industry can analyse stress on a structure design, and then conduct a code check of a welding to ensure it meets the code of the particular country in which it is being built before creating a sketch in any CAD program.
The integration also provides a convenient way for engineers to manage their projects, since they can compile all information and track their progress on a project in one location.
Because Esop is Excel-based, the technology is also easy to use.
"Workbench as a development tool is a very functional and flexible framework for integrating engineering applications and delivering a complete desktop engineering environment to our common customers", said Gary Wyatt, International Sales and Marketing Director at Robobat.
