Vault gets to grips with engineering data
A new version of Autodesk Vault extends data management capabilities with new functionality that delivers the ability to create, manage and share product designs more easily than ever before.
Data management boosts design productivity
Thermal engineering firm Darchem has found that using Autodesk Vault has speeded up the design process considerably.
"Tracking engineering documents is key to further reducing time to market, improving quality and lowering costs when using 3D design solutions such as Autodesk Inventor software", said Robert Kross, Vice President of the Manufacturing Solutions Division at Autodesk.
"We expect the Autodesk Vault to bring greater value to our customers and a new way for them to manage their business processes".
The new integrated workgroup vault was developed from technology recently acquired from truEInnovations.
It offers data management features to remove the manual task of managing engineering documents.
Built for the small design team, this management tool allows teams of one to 10 users to immediately and securely track documents and changes, locate documents quickly, manage libraries, and support concurrent engineering.
Design teams can quickly realise these benefits without undergoing a lengthy implementation process.
Autodesk Professional Services offers an Autodesk Vault Server Upgrade service, providing assistance to customers with larger design teams who want to upgrade from Autodesk Vault on Microsoft SQL Server Desktop Engine (MSDE) to Microsoft SQL Server.
Integrating the Autodesk Vault with the Autodesk Streamline online collaboration service is the easiest way to unlock the value of digital information.
The Autodesk Streamline service helps companies to connect with extended teams and manage data throughout the entire lifecycle of a project.
With the Autodesk Streamline service, users can publish design data directly from the Autodesk Vault environment and make that data available in discrete logical parts.
This gives project team members the ability to view graphics, parts, assemblies and more in a single location.
