Opening up extensive new markets among high-end engineering and manufacturing customers, Autodesk has appointed Incat as an Autodesk Systems Centre.

Opening up extensive new markets among high-end engineering and manufacturing customers, Autodesk has appointed Incat as an Autodesk Systems Centre Highly experienced in offering total IT infrastructure, systems integration and product lifecycle management (PLM) solutions, Incat describes its role as "extending solution value", ensuring customers optimise technology and processes to gain competitive advantage and minimise time to market

Close on the heels of this announcement comes news that Incat has acquired PLM solutions specialist Apex One, adding even further weight to the new Autodesk partnership.

This will enable Incat to maximise the growing demand for PLM solutions among small- to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), extending its reach into the pharmaceutical, life sciences, retail and petrochemical industries.

Autodesk Business Unit Manager for the Manufacturing Services Division, Kevin Ison, emphasised the importance of the new relationship, saying that as a large global force, particularly in the automotive and aerospace arenas, Incat represented a new breed of Autodesk reseller.

"Incat will not only introduce Autodesk solutions to a new range of customers, but also ensure that some of those already using our software are better served, offering complete strategic consultancy and advising customers how to maximise the benefits", he said.

Ivan Sarti, Incat Manager, GMB sales agreed: "Incat is delighted to add Autodesk solutions to our portfolio as we believe the real potential of these products, especially the Inventor series, has yet to be realised.

We can see enormous opportunity for customers to increase their return from Autodesk applications, and that our experience as a total solution provider to manufacturing combined with our considerable capabilities around product lifecycle management, make this relationship a unique and incredibly powerful proposition".

Sarti emphasised how fierce competition, both local and global, was making it increasingly vital to invest in the latest technologies and associated best practice.

"Manufacturers need to find better ways to share data and process - and to deliver quality product to the market in shorter lead times.

Incat and Autodesk have a key role to play here".

"Also, many of our customers are already Autodesk users.

Our relationship will make life easier for them as they will no longer have to go elsewhere for support".

He added that Incat in the USA had already established a very successful reseller relationship with Autodesk: "We deal with global companies and increasingly they are looking for total solutions from global providers, Autodesk is an essential part of this total solution for manufacturing".
