When more than 10,000 elite athletes from around the world go down under to the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, few will know their accommodations were built with the help of Autodesk.
"Because Inventor is used for all aspects of mechanical design from small parts to large assemblies, from mechanical design to consumer products, our users come from a huge range of backgrounds", explains Kevin Ison, Business Manager of Autodesk's Manufacturing Solutions Division.
"We believe we will all gain from learning how others are using design software - and it will give Autodesk the opportunity to pass on 'insider' tips and tricks to our Inventor user base".
Each month iNews will spotlight a different Inventor user - and Ison sees this as an opportunity for users to build up their contacts.
"We plan to create a virtual community of Inventor users, and hopefully introduce some of our customers to others who could be useful to them", he says.
It will also provide a forum for users to air their views on controversial industry issues as users will be invited to contribute their own opinion articles or comment on any topic featured.
Those interested can sign up for iNews on the Autodesk website.
