The company's designers previously spent only half their time developing new concepts due to the constant need to regenerate existing data.
Inventor's parametric system allows them to reuse the assets they already have and modifies all appropriate parts when designers make a single change.
In addition, Inventor integrates with Land's Pathtrace CAM system, allowing the company's manufacturing department to re-use the same information.
The company's machine shop no longer has to make its own drawings, and the sales and marketing teams also benefit from their new ability to produce information for marketing and technical communications and training purposes within hours rather than days.
The solution facilitates data integration throughout the entire company and consolidates two separate design divisions following an internal merger.
After working in different ways with separate technology, the merged departments selected Inventor to share data throughout the company and for its lowest total cost of ownership.
"A real test was during the SARS crisis when, in just six weeks, Inventor enabled us to repackage a thermal imaging system into an online mass-surveillance system for monitoring body temperatures at airports", comments Dave Leadley who headed up the integration between divisions.
"Inventor helped us to match the market when needed which alone justifies our investment".
Leading Inventor reseller Trionics commissioned and installed Inventor for Land Instruments and continues to provide full technical support and training.
Trionics joint MD John Pickering comments: "We work closely with our customers as a reliable business advisor and Inventor is the 3D modelling solution we trust as an integral component of our solutions".
