Cut-price upgrade for 3D modelling

An AutoSolids product story

AutoSolids (ASI) and Context CAD have announced the availability of competitive upgrade pricing on ASI's AutoSolids 3D solid modelling software program to owners of Context CAD's CSG Editor.

AutoSolids (ASI) and Context CAD have announced the availability of competitive upgrade pricing on ASI's AutoSolids 3D solid modelling software program to owners of Context CAD's CSG Editor.

Owners of CSG Editor V3 may now purchase the standard version of AutoSolids for US $295 - $700 below AutoSolids' $995 list price.

Owners of CSG Editor V2 may purchase AutoSolids for $395.

AutoSolids and CSG Editor are both AutoCAD add-ons that improve AutoCAD's native 3D capabilities.

CSG Editor adds parametric editing functionality to AutoCAD's native solid modelling system.

AutoSolids adds parametric modelling functionality beyond that of CSG Editor, and also includes advanced visualisation tools and automated 3D-to-2D capabilities, resulting in a comprehensive 3D design system.

"CSG Editor is certainly an improvement to native AutoCAD's modelling system", says ASI's Scott Slavik, "but it still lacks many features that are necessary for achieving the enormous efficiency gains that are possible with parametric solid modelling.

Our licensing of the ACIS modelling engine enables AutoSolids to provide key modeling features that are literally impossible without ACIS access.

In addition, AutoSolids' RealView real-time rendering engine and QuickDraw automated 2D drawing generator help streamline the entire design process, from basic model creation tasks all the way to 2D drawing production.

We are very pleased that our relationship with Context CAD has resulted in AutoSolids' technology being made available to existing Context CAD customers at a very attractive price".

Because both products incorporate constructive solid geometry (CSG) technology, AutoSolids can read and parametrically edit existing CSG Editor solids.

AutoSolids is also unique in maintaining native.dwg file format at all times; AutoSolids models are directly accessible to non-AutoSolids-equipped AutoCAD users without conversion, with AutoSolids models responding exactly as native AutoCAD solids to all native AutoCAD commands.
