Type PK conduits are manufactured from Polyketone, which offers a combination of strength, weight saving and super low fire hazard capability.
Adaptaflex has a range of nonmetallic flexible conduit systems that are fully compliant with BS6853 Class 1A and suited to the most demanding electrical applications in rail, underground and public buildings.
The Type PK, the conduit is manufactured from Polyketone, which offers a combination of strength, weight saving and super low fire hazard capability.
It outperforms other nonmetallic materials in terms of weight, high tensile strength and crush resistance while maintaining high flexibility and a high fatigue life.
Used to route and protect cables in extreme locations it has an operational temperature range of -60C to +260C, offering super low fire hazard (SLFH) properties, is halogen-free and highly resistant to ultraviolet light.
Used with the appropriate Adaptaflex PK and Hi-Spec Type A and B fittings, the systems offer ingress protection up to IP67.
Part of Adaptaflex' Hi-Spec range, the Type PK series of flexible conduits is available as a nonmetallic flexible conduit manufactured from the specialist polymer compound, Peek.
For applications requiring high EMI screening the Polyketone conduit is overbraided with a tinned copper sheath to become Type PKTC.
In extreme, harsh and demanding environments PK can be overbraided with stainless steel to become Type PKSS and provide abuse resistance and high mechanical strength.
These conduits offer very high flexibility and meet the requirements of IEC61386, Adaptaflex is the first and only major conduit manufacturer to achieve third-party accreditation from the British Standards Institution (BSI).
This guarantees Adaptaflex products meet performance specifications for fatigue life, operating temperature, nonflame propagation, IP ratings, among other criteria.
Adaptaflex Hi-Spec flexible conduit systems are available in nominal conduit sizes of 13, 16, 21, 28 and 34mm.
