System achieves ingress protection ratings up to IP68 and IP69K by a simple push-twist-pull installation process, which does not require tools.

Adaptaflex will launch its Adaptalok ATS range of conduit fittings at Infrarail 2008.

With one of the most comprehensive ranges in the industry Adaptaflex is the only manufacturer of the BS6853 Class 1A nonmetallic flexible conduit Polyketone system, Type PK.

The super low fire hazard system has high UV resistance, flexibility and fatigue life and is suitable for both static and flexing applications.

It is also available with stainless steel or tinned copper overbraids for safety critical and harsh environments.

Similarly, examples of the Type PR enhanced low fire hazard overbraided system will also be on show, all of which are fully approved for use by LUL.

Adaptalok ATS conduit fittings promise the ultimate in conduit system performance and integrity.

Manufactured from nylon and elastomer materials, using a twin shot moulding process, installation times are considerably reduced as there are no separate components to loose.

The system achieves ingress protection ratings up to IP68 and IP69K by a simple push-twist-pull installation process, which does not require tools.

A full range of sizes and fitting options are available including straight and elbows with nylon or swivel metal threads, all of which are ideal for a wide selection of rail applications.

Also on show will be Type CP, specifically developed by Adaptaflex for rail use, it uses a special copolymer material that offers high flexibility, with a wide operating temperature range, low fire hazard (LFH) capability and extremely low toxicity.

It is already being used by leading international locomotive and carriage builders and is ideal for use inside or beneath trains and carriages, as well as on public transport, light rail and tramway systems.

An added advantage is that it facilitates the use of the extensive range of world renowned, one-piece, push and twist Adaptalok fittings, making installation both fast and effective, with IP66 ingress protection as standard.

This can be increased to IP68 and IP69k by using the dedicated Adaptalok highly visible insert seal.

Adaptaflex has developed many dedicated flexible conduit systems suitable for the rail industry.

These include both metallic and nonmetallic systems, offering ingress protection from IP66, as standard, through to IP67, IP68 and IP69k.

They provide the most suitable application solution, whether the use is on the locomotive, carriage, infrastructure project, trackside or safety critical system.
