Flexible conduits are protected with steel

An Adaptaflex product story

Range includes specialised systems for chemical, engineering, offshore, rail, underground, tunnel and security applications.

Adaptasteel metallic overbraided systems from Adaptaflex offer a choice of seven ranges to provide the best solution for the most demanding applications.

Originally developed for use on machining and OEM applications, Adaptaflex protective overbraided steel systems have continuously evolved to include specialised systems for chemical, engineering, offshore, rail, underground, tunnel and security applications.

They are available in a wide selection of nominal conduit diameters to best meet individual application requirements.

Adaptaflex overbraided flexible conduit systems protect vulnerable cabling on metal machining, welding or heavy plant where abrasion, spillage and increased temperature are all serious operational considerations.

They also satisfy arduous demands on railway rolling stock and on essential trackside applications, such as signalling and communications.

Available within the Adaptaflex range are galvanised steel, stainless steel as well as tinned copper overbraid.

In its various forms and with earth continuity via the system's fittings, the overbraiding can afford a standard, enhanced or high degree of EMI screening capability, protecting the cables carried within the flexible system.

All provide an inherent low fire hazard installation and have British Kitemark approval to IEC61386, which specifies performance classification for conduit systems, along with the EC directives for electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) or where electromagnetic interference EMI screening of conduit is required.

Adaptasteel systems also offer cost-effective alternatives to individually screened cables within applications where cross talk has no adverse effect.

Additionally, the user gains the mechanical advantage of a cable management system, which affords the means to easily add, substitute or replace cables in an existing cable run at any time.

All the systems are comprehensively detailed in the new Adaptaflex Cable Management Solutions catalogue.
