Polyester film provides hygiene boost

SIGMAGraF Shield AM is a heat-stabilised polyester film with a UV-cured hard coating on the front side and a pressure sensitive, acrylic adhesive on its reverse surface.

MacDermid Autotype has released a hard coated polyester film designed to offer antimicrobial protection for hospital surfaces SIGMAGraF Shield AM combines Microban antimicrobial technology with industrial-strength protection against solvents and cleaning chemicals

It can provide greater impact and abrasion resistance than ordinary laminates, ensuring that all surfaces and signage remain protected.

SIGMAGraF Shield AM is a heat-stabilised polyester film with a UV-cured hard coating on the front side and a pressure sensitive, acrylic adhesive on its reverse surface.

The film can be combined with cladding vinyl and graphics for protection on walls, doors, counters and equipment in hygiene-critical areas.

For example, door push panels can be created that are not only graphically attractive, but are also antimicrobial.

Microban technology is incorporated into the film's textured hard coat during manufacturing.

This ensures even distribution of the antimicrobial agent throughout its surface, preventing it from washing or wearing away.

Microban technology inhibits the growth of a wide range of bacteria, fungi and moulds like MRSA, salmonella enteritidis, escherichia coli and listeria monocytogenes that can present health and safety risks in hospital environments.

SIGMAGraF Shield AM has excellent optical and antiglare properties because of the nonfilled, microfine texture. Request a free brochure from MacDermid Autotype ...
