A fanless 500MHz Crusoe 5400 CPU-based touch panel computer has been launched in a slim 55mm enclosure, featuring a 15" colour TFT display and a resistive touch screen user interface

Advantech has introduced a powerful integrated touch panel computer that is designed for use in industrial automation applications The rugged TPC-1560 has a 15" colour TFT display and a resistive touch screen user interface

A slim 55mm enclosure houses a powerful and reliable, fanless 500MHz Crusoe 5400 CPU and 128MB DRAM that provide fast execution of operator inputs.

Compatibility with Windows 9x/NT/2000/CE software makes the TPC-1560 suitable for a wide range of customer applications.

A PC/104 expansion slot and on-board provision for a fast docking single 2.5" HDD give a high degree of versatility.

This is further enhanced by a single type-II CompactFlash slot.

The input power requirements of the TPC-1560 are 24VDC at a maximum rating of 2A.

The TPC-1560 weighs 3.8kg and has overall dimensions of just 383 x 307 x 55mm.

A strong IP65 rated, lightweight Magnesium alloy front bezel is combined with a tough moulded plastic rear housing to give a unit that can be used in harsh industrial environments.

The computer can operate at temperatures ranging from 0C to +50C and relative humidities up to 95%.

The TPC-1560 is BSMI certified for electro magnetic interference, and also meets class A requirements for CE, FCC compliance.

With a viewing angle of 140 degrees and luminance of 350 cd/m2, the TFT LCD display can be viewed clearly in most environments.

Additionally, up to 16 million colours and an on-screen resolution of 1024 x 768 give the user quick and easy recognition of displayed information.

The eight-wire analogue resistive touch panel that is overlaid on the TFT display provides continuous resolution and a minimum light transmission of 75%.

It has a specified lifetime of 100 million operations.

Communications and peripheral interconnectivity are well catered for on Advantech's TPC-1560.

A single PS/2 port is provided for either individual or simultaneous connection of a mouse and keyboard, whilst two USB ports enable connection of serial data devices.

I/O ports provided include: three serial ports (two RS-232 and one auto data flow control RS-232/422/485), one parallel port, one 10/1 port, one VGA port and MCA line out jacks. Request a free brochure from Advantech (UK) ...
