The PCA-6183 has four onboard DIMM memory sockets which support up to 4Gbyte of PC-133 registered SDRAM.
The PCI bus is compatible with 32bit/33MHz addon cards and provides four times more bandwidth than traditional 32bit/33MHz PCIbus, dramatically increasing overall system performance.
The PCA-6183 offers a wealth of onboard I/O options to meet a number of different application requirements, including a Gigabit Ethernet port and dual-channel Ultra 160 SCSI interface.
Two controllers - a Broadcom 5701 LAN and an Adaptec 7899 SCSI - are connected to the 64bit PCIbus, providing plenty of bandwidth.
Other I/O options, such as dual 10/100Mbit/s fast Ethernet ports and a VGA display interface, are built on a separate 32bit PCI interface, so that the performance of the 64bit PCIbus remains unaffected.
The dual Ethernet ports use an Intel 82559 controller, providing load balance and fault-tolerant functions.
The board has been designed to operate under extreme temperatures, ranging from 0 to 60C, and can be remotely managed by using Advantech's SNMP-1000 HTTP/SNMP system manager.
The onboard watchdog timer can be used to monitor the software performance.
Advantech will be demonstrating the PCA 6183 this week in London at Nextech 2002. Request a free brochure from Advantech (UK) ...
