E-server provides web-enabled industrial
control

The RS-400-SF is a high-speed-processing fast-storage-capacity 4U rack-mount e-server.

The RS-400-SF is a high-speed-processing fast-storage-capacity 4U rack-mount e-server Designed with flexibility and reliability in mind, the RS-400-SF supports Intel's high-speed Pentium 4 processor and is an ideal solution not just for traditional industrial automation requirements, but also for ISP, telecomms and VOD applications

For enhanced expansion capabilities, Advantech has equipped the e-server with it's own in-house designed, high-performance motherboard which supports high-speed Intel Pentium 4, up to 2.4GHz and up to 3Gbyte of DDR-266 memory.

Furthermore, users can benefit from one external AGP 4X, two PCI slots and four ISA slots.

The RS-400-SF has two swappable IDE HDD drive bays and offers a complete set of I/O functions including dual Intel 82559ER Fast Ethernet controllers with support for 10baseT and 100baseTX through RJ-45 connectors.

Available now, the RS-400-SF has a replaceable cooling system and front panel indicators for the HDD and power.

An alarm system warns users of any change in chassis temperature or system voltage.

An SNMP-1000 card is available to users as an optional extra.

This platform-independent hardware module monitors the system operating conditions and alerts users to any potential system failure.

The SNMP-1000 card allows the management and monitoring of the RS-400-SF to be integrated into a user's existing SNMP-based network management environment and the built-in web-based administration interface enables users to monitor the system's operations remotely.
