Easier access to complex technical software
The latest version of the EASA (Enterprise Accessible Software Applications) package provides substantial improvements in its ability to provide simplified access to complex technical software.
The concept of outsourcing has already been widely embraced by process and power companies who have, in many cases, outsourced telecommunications, computing and desktop applications.
However, until now there has been no one with the necessary skills and market knowledge to provide effective support for complex engineering applications.
AVEVA Managed Services will focus its proposition around the core engineering applications utilised by its clients, such as those provided by the group's long established software division, in addition to managing other applications and internally developed systems.
Aveva Managed Services will offer clients a defined level of service for a fixed cost.
In addition, integration, standardisation and business process improvement projects will be managed using the specialist knowledge and industry experience available within the new division at its launch.
The new division will approach clients with a view to providing a benefit-driven service, combining its process knowledge and integration skills together with customers' staff, who will often become employees of Aveva Managed Services.
Commenting on the move, Aveva Group director responsible for the new division, Tony Christian, said: "Fixed cost engineering IT support is a critical part of successful project execution.
We will provide a guaranteed level of expert service in the support of complex engineering applications.
Our clients are increasingly telling us that they want to engineer multinational projects without the worry of managing their own engineering IT systems".
Christian added: "Launching the new division on the back of experience gained since the launch of our new consulting division, and with the benefit of the group's large, high quality customer base, positions us well for early success.
A number of major companies have already expressed interest in Aveva Managed Services becoming a long-term key partner".
