RCD tester aids compliance
The MkII version of the popular Megger LCB2500 loop and RCD tester makes it easier than ever to produce the data needed for certifying electrical to the IEE Wiring Regulations (BS7671:2001).
With its ability to provide a direct readout of final circuit loop impedance - without the need to disconnect any wiring - the new MkII version of the popular Megger LCB2500 loop and RCD tester from AVO International makes it easier than ever to produce the data needed for certifying building electrical installations as complying with the IEE Wiring Regulations (BS7671:2001) Final circuit loop impedance is required to be recorded on test certificates both after initial testing, and during subsequent re-testing of the installation

Handheld testers star in catalogue
No fewer than 50 instruments, ranging from insulation and continuity testers to LCR test sets, are featured in the new handheld product catalogue from Megger.
Fibre-optic testing now easier to perform
Fast, comprehensive testing of fibre-optic installations is now easier to perform with the latest range of low-cost Megger fibre-optic light sources and power meters
This impedance has, in the past, been difficult to determine, without disconnecting wiring and interrupting supplies.
Measuring it has, therefore, added significantly to the cost of the certification process, and to the time taken.
The new Mk II LCB2500 provides a complete solution to these problems.
The instrument offers high-current loop tests, fast non-tripping three-wire loop tests and non-tripping two-wire loop tests, as well as supply voltage and frequency measurement, combined with polarity indication.
The unit is equally suitable for use on single- and three-phase installations, and can perform phase-to-phase, phase-to-neutral and phase-to-earth tests.
The RCD test facilities offered allow testing of general-purpose, selective, DC-sensitive and programmable RCDs.
The instrument provides a full range of tests, including auto-sequence no trip and ramp tests, and it performs contact voltage and loop impedance calculations during RCD testing.
Test results are shown on large, easy-to-read liquid crystal displays, and the LCB2500 also stores the results in a non-volatile memory, along with connection details, circuit numbers and distribution board references.
Stored data can be downloaded to a PC, using the software provided, and direct output to a printer is also possible for on-site printouts.
The LCB2500 loop and RCD tester is, in addition, fully compatible with AVO PowerSuite for Windows and PowerSuite Xpress test and certification software.
The LCB2500 features compact, robust construction, and is waterproof and dustproof to IP54, making it ideal for on-site use, even in the most demanding conditions.
The instrument is supplied complete with a variety of test leads, instruction manual, carrying case and data download software. Request a free brochure from Megger ...
