Lighter ohmmeter takes a load off field
testing
The lightweight DLRO600 digital low-resistance ohmmeter weighs only 15kg, and so can be used safely by one person for on-site resistance testing of circuit breaker contacts and busbars.
The release of Megger's new and very competitively priced lightweight DLRO600 digital low-resistance ohmmeter means than on-site resistance testing of circuit breaker contacts and busbars no longer requires the use of "portable" equipment which is too heavy to be carried comfortably and safely by one person At just under 15kg, the new DLRO600 is around half the weight of a typical high-current low-resistance ohmmeter, yet it offers a test current which is continuously variable, from 10A to a full 600A

Handheld testers star in catalogue
No fewer than 50 instruments, ranging from insulation and continuity testers to LCR test sets, are featured in the new handheld product catalogue from Megger.
Fibre-optic testing now easier to perform
Fast, comprehensive testing of fibre-optic installations is now easier to perform with the latest range of low-cost Megger fibre-optic light sources and power meters
This wide current range means that users of the DLRO600 can perform all of their tests with a single instrument, rather than having to use separate test sets with fixed operating currents of, for example, 100, 200 and 500A.
Designed to be equally suitable for indoor and outdoor use, the DLRO600 features a robust yet compact case, which has an IP54 (splashproof) environmental protection rating.
The instrument accurately measures resistance from 0.1uohm to 1ohm, with a best resolution of 0.1uohm, and presents the results on a large backlit liquid crystal display.
Up to 80 test results, together with associated notes entered via the instrument's keyboard, may also be stored in the onboard memory, and can subsequently be recalled to the display, or can be downloaded to a computer via an RS232 link.
Real-time output of results direct to a printer is also supported.
To ensure maximum versatility and ease of use, Megger's new DLRO600 offers a choice of three operating modes.
Continuous mode is provided for users who wish to monitor resistance over a period of time.
In this mode, the test current is passed through the circuit continuously, and the results are captured every 2s.
In normal mode, the instrument carries out a single test, which takes around five seconds, when the test button is pressed.
The third mode, auto, is particularly useful where several tests are to be performed in succession, as the instrument automatically performs a test every time that the test leads are connected, without requiring the user to press the test button for each test.
The Megger DLRO600 lightweight digital low-resistance ohmmeter is supplied complete with test leads, download software for results, an RS232 download cable, and a user manual on CD-ROM.
Versions with standard qwerty or European azerty keyboards are available. Request a free brochure from Megger ...
