"We're proud of our heritage", said Nick Hilditch, of Megger, "but we strongly believe that the most important aspect of our history is that it provides us with an unbeatable foundation for current and future developments.
Megger is always at the forefront of technology - it developed, for example, the first practical insulation tester, as well as the world's first multimeter, and this spirit of innovation continues to be very much to the fore in all of our operations".
"In the last few months alone", continued Hilditch, "we have launched a radically new combination tester which sets new standards of convenience and performance for electrical contractors, as well as such ground-breaking products as 10kV insulation and low-resistance testers, power quality analysers, and optical fibre installation testers specifically designed to meet the needs of the fast-growing data communication market".
A century ago, Megger was a small UK-based organisation, manufacturing a handful of products.
Today, Megger products are developed and manufactured at sites in Dover, England; Dallas, Texas; and Valley Forge, Pennsylvania.
Sales and technical support offices are maintained throughout the USA and Canada, as well as in Dover, England; Paris, France; Madrid, Spain; Mumbai, India; Sydney Australia; and Bahrain.
A global network of several hundred sales engineers, product literature and technical manuals in seven languages, and multilingual displays on the company's products, mean that Megger can provide a unique local service to customers anywhere in the world.
The current Megger product offering spans 30 distinct product groups which, between them, feature over 1000 individual products.
These include equipment for use in the most critical maintenance areas, such as cable fault location, protective relay testing, on-line monitoring of substation apparatus, and power quality evaluation, together with a comprehensive range of telecommunication test equipment.
