A new PC-based software package promises big reductions both in costly downtime caused by battery problems, and in the maintenance costs of battery installations Designed to transform data from battery tests into useful information which aids decisions relating to battery maintenance and replacement, ProActiv is optimised for use with Megger's BITE range of battery testers

Fibre-optic testing now easier to perform
Fast, comprehensive testing of fibre-optic installations is now easier to perform with the latest range of low-cost Megger fibre-optic light sources and power meters
It is available for download, free-of-charge, from the Megger website which also offers a request form for those who prefer to receive a CD-ROM version.
Megger's ProActiv software features an easy-to-use graphical interface, and can organise and manage data for an almost unlimited number of cells and strings, installed on one or more sites.
Data can be entered manually, from a computer file supplied on a disk or via a network, or it can be imported directly from a Megger BITE battery tester.
The package stores and trends data relating to a wide range of parameters, including impedance, voltage, temperature, specific gravity, intercell connection resistance and ripple current.
It then compares these parameters with limits entered by the user, and depending on the results of the comparison, provides clear, unambiguous pass, warning and fail indications for individual cells and battery strings.
Extensive customisation options allow users to configure the package to suit their own particular needs, while a wide choice of graphical views, including ascending impedance and all data for a given cell, provides additional tools for monitoring battery and cell condition.
Results are also produced in tabular form, and facilities are provided for storing images, such as photographs and thermograph scans, along with free-text comments.
ProActiv stores all data in a form that is fully compatible with Microsoft Access, allowing easy transfer of information to external software packages.
In addition, graphical results generated by ProActiv can be saved as bitmaps for direct export to popular office software, such as Word. Request a free brochure from Megger ...
