Weighing in at less than 900g, Megger's new hand-held TTR100 transformer turns ratio tester is the smallest and lightest product of its type currently available, making it easy to carry and use, even under difficult on-site conditions.

Versatile, yet competitively priced, the TTR100 is an attractive and cost-effective solution for all types of low- and medium-volume transformer testing.

Although essentially a single-phase unit, Megger's innovative TTR100 is equally suitable for testing three-phase transformers on a phase-by-phase basis.

It provides a fast and accurate digital readout of turns ratios from 0.8:1 to 20,000:1 and, in addition, measures excitation current, phase displacement and DC winding resistance, as well as indicating winding polarity.

Between them, these tests allow transformer faults to be rapidly and positively identified and diagnosed.

From the outset, the TTR100 has been designed with ease and speed of use in mind.

Tests are selected from a straightforward menu system, and are carried out fully automatically.

Results are typically available in less than 20s, and are shown on a large, easy-to-read backlit liquid crystal display.

As a further aid for users, the display can also show connection diagrams for the various tests which the instrument is capable of performing.

In addition to displaying measured and calculated results directly, the TTR100 also stores them in its internal memory which has capacity for 200 test results, plus 100 user-defined test settings.

Information, such as transformer alphanumeric identification code, can be entered via the instrument's keyboard, and all data from the memory can be sent direct to a printer, or can be uploaded to a PC via the unit's RS232 port.

To ensure complete portability, Megger's new TTR100 transformer turns ratio tester is powered by an internal rechargeable battery which gives up to 15h operation between charges.

As standard, the instrument is supplied complete with battery charger, 2m-long H and X test leads, PC interface cable, software for uploading test results to a PC, carrying case, and a comprehensive instruction manual.

Optional accessories include longer test leads, a car charger, and a portable thermal printer.
