Range makes testing easier for contractors

A Megger product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team May 20, 2004

A comprehensive new range of instruments is designed specifically to meet the needs of electrical contractors.

Quick and easy to use, robust construction, reliability and competitive pricing are among the key benefits offered by a comprehensive new range of instruments from Megger, produced specifically to meet the needs of electrical contractors.

Developed after extensive consultation with contractors, to find out exactly what they were looking for in test instruments, Megger's new products feature a unique new design which makes them comfortable to hold and operate, even when they are used for long periods under difficult site conditions.

The range includes insulation and continuity testers, loop testers, and RCD testers.

Between them, these instruments cover all day-to-day contractor requirements, as well as addressing all of the test requirements prescribed by the current 16th Edition of the IEE Wiring Regulations.

To ensure that every user can find products that exactly meet their individual needs, the new Megger range of test equipment for contractors offers a choice of instruments.

Basic instruments of each type offer essential functions for the contractor, and are easy to use, as well as being very affordable.

More sophisticated instruments in the range add functions, such as backlit displays and range selectors, test probes with integral switches, and the ability to download test results to a PC.

These additional features make the premium instruments particularly useful to contractors who carry out a large amount of testing work.

All instruments in Megger's new contractor range feature comprehensive safety functions, to protect users from the consequences of accidental misuse, and all are guaranteed safe if accidentally connected to 415V three-phase installations.

Testers in the new range are exceptionally tough, with display covers and rubber protection in the form of an over-moulding.

These features allow them to withstand use under harsh site conditions indefinitely, while careful design of the circuitry used in the instruments ensures repeatable, accurate results.

Every instrument in the range is supplied with a full calibration certificate.
