US-based brushless motor developer Aveox has moved to a new location in the Simi Valley, Los Angeles.

US-based brushless motor developer Aveox has moved to a new location in the Simi Valley, Los Angeles.

The move, together with major investment in engineering staff and production plant has enabled the company to expand its customer base beyond its traditional aerospace and associated industries.

Led by David Palombo, CEO and Principal Designer, the company continues to offer custom designed brushless motor based solutions to difficult rotational problems.

Aveox offers high performance motors and controllers to customers whose application requires small sise with high output, operation in high temperatures or at speeds beyond 50,000rev/min.

Aveox manufactures motors and controllers for military/aerospace, medical, general industry, UAV/ROV, geophysical exploration and radio control applications, using a combination of "off the shelf" and custom designed products.

Aveox USA feels itself unique in that when a prospective client contacts it with an enquiry, he or she will be answered by a degree qualified engineer who is experienced in brushless motor applications.

Engineering involvement at an early stage means that a quick decision can be made on whether an Aveox brushless motor is the correct solution or not.

Aveox also offers a quick motor selection service for applications where a custom design is not required.

Since its formation in 1992, the company has developed strong relationships with various subcontractors, enabling Aveox to offer large quantity production capacity while keeping its own overhead costs down.

All new design, development, prototype and small scale production is carried out in house.

Projects successfully completed by Aveox include: aircraft fluid pumps; flight actuation systems; cargo loading actuators; integrated starter/generator systems for unmanned aircraft; salt water submersible motor and controller for military vehicles; drive motors and controller for undersea vehicles; a 9hp water cooled prop drive for wind tunnels; and a 13.5hp cooling pump motor and drive.

Aveox is currently working on the development of three-phase variable frequency active power factor correction circuitry for use in military and civil aircraft.

When finallised, the system will satisfy future harmonic distortion requirements while being lighter in weight than traditional passive filter systems.
