Pittman series 9000 brush-commutated DC motors have two-pole stators that incorporate seven-slot skewed armatures to minimise magnetic cogging and enable smooth and quiet running performance.

Pittman series 9000 brush-commutated DC motors can deliver quiet and smooth operation for equipment used in data storage, medical/biotech, semiconductor processing and automation applications Their modular construction allows customisation to satisfy specific requirements

The motors have two-pole stators that incorporate seven-slot skewed armatures to minimise magnetic cogging (or reluctance torque) and enable smooth and quiet running performance.

Commutators are diamond turned after armature assembly to ensure optimum concentricity and long brush life and windings are resin-impregnated for greater reliability in incremental motion applications.

Other standard features include ceramic magnets, silicon steel laminations, copper graphite brushes and heavy-gauge steel housing.

Motors are available in six lengths and can achieve a maximum continuous torque rating of 0.05Nm at speeds up to 6070rev/min, depending on the model.

Speed, voltage, current and torque characteristics can be varied to meet application demands.

Customisation options include planetary or spur gearboxes, optical encoders, alternate brush materials, brakes, cables, connectors, modified shafts and RFI suppression or special configurations.
