Gauging probes more flexible for
production lines
A 32mm spindle stroke model added to a range of digital gauging probes enables a longer measurement range and provides more flexibility in incorporating the probe into a continuous production line
Sony Precision Technology has expanded its range of DT digital gauging probes to include the DT32 series with a 32mm spindle stroke The spindle travel provides two advantages, firstly it enables a longer measurement range and secondly, it provides more flexibility in incorporating the probe into a continuous production line, as the need to reposition the complete gauge with each component is greatly reduced

Encoders on a budget
Axis Group can now offer a range of optical incremental rotary and draw wire encoders at very economical prices.
The Sony MR (magneto-resistive) measuring principle used in the DT range results in a resolution of 5 microns and an accuracy of better than +/- 5 microns over the entire probe travel.
The overall body width of the probe is only 12mm and enables closer measuring points to be taken in multi-gauging applications.
The reputation for robustness of these digital gauges is supported by an IP64 rating and a 5 million stroke guarantee.
These new probes can also be supplied with a built in push type pneumatic cylinder for automated inspection.
The DT probe series connects to the existing Sony LT display range with comparator functions and interface options (RS232C and BCD) or, via a small inline interpolator, can be incorporated with other manufacturer's counters and control units.
The use of digital gauging techniques in place of analogue equipment continues to grow, particularly in the European market.
Sony Precision Technology is committed to researching and developing new digital positioning products to meet those future market requirements.
