The new Amphe-Base connector series from Amphenol Industrial Operations allows designers to provide power to busbars and backplane assemblies.

The new Amphe-Base connector series from Amphenol Industrial Operations allows designers to provide power to busbars and backplane assemblies The connectors, available in either two- or three-position patterns, have a 50A current capability per position with 8AWG wire and 100A capacity with 4AWG wire

The new Amphe-Base series offers easy one-handed mating.

The connectors feature moulded-in contact retention and no special tools or external clips are needed for socket contact installation.

Users simply push the crimped socket into the rear of the cavity until the socket locks into place.

The connectors are made of injection-moulded UL94V0-rated polycarbonate, providing strength while maintaining cost effective manufacturing.

Circuit identification designed into the connectors helps ensure that users will not confuse the circuits.

The two-position pattern displays symbols for the positive and negative circuits.

The three-position pattern displays positive and negative as well as the additional symbol for the ground circuit.

The positive circuit position on the three-position connector is offset from the ground and the negative circuits positions, further ensuring foolproof mating.

Additionally, this connector series incorporates the Radsok 6mm socket with wire wells ranging from 4 to 12AWG, depending on the current requirements of the application.

Radsok is a patented electrical terminal based on a hyperbolic grid configuration.

The cylinder contains elongated contactor strips connected in spaced, parallel relationships, twisted into a hyperbolic shape.

As a male pin is inserted, the grid deflects, imparting high normal forces.

The hyperbolic configuration ensures a large coaxial, face-to-face engagement area for a low millivolt drop connection with a low insertion force.

The stamped grid and cylinder are very rugged, allowing for a high quantity of insertion cycles and off-axis insertions.

Pricing for a typical three-position rectangular, moulded connector with three 6mm Radsok sockets is $12.86 in quantities of 500 pieces.

Delivery is 6 weeks ARO.
