Amphenol Industrial Operations has introduced its new Neptune Series power connectors - featuring Radsok technology.

Amphenol Industrial Operations has introduced its new Neptune Series power connectors - featuring Radsok technology Developed for fast and safe interconnections between modular equipment operating in demanding environments, like those found in onshore and offshore oil exploration, power generation, manufacturing plants etc, they are also ideal for any portable power equipment dependant on secure power interconnects

Neptune high-integrity plug and receptacles are offered from 30 up to 400A at 600V and feature the company's exclusive Radsok contact system that allows greater current and voltage to be accommodated through smaller connectors.

The lightweight aluminium hardware is precision machined from high tensile strength stock and finished with a hard coating to 40 points on the Rockwell C scale.

The result is a rugged, environmentally sealed, high-reliability IP68-8 rated connector, with a dielectric strength of 1800V, that is some 50% smaller and lighter than competing products.

Amphenol Industrial Operations offers its Neptune Series in a range of sizes from 12 to 4/0 and 350MCM.

The advanced Radsok contact system that delivers the superior performance is a patented electrical terminal based on a hyperbolic grid configuration.

The cylinders contain elongated contactor strips connected in spaced parallel relationships and twisted into a hyperbolic shape.

As a male pin is inserted the grid deflects and imparts high normal forces.

The hyperbolic configuration ensures a large coaxial, face-to-face engagement area for a low millivolt drop connection with low insertion force.

Its stamped grid and cylinder are rugged and forgiving to maintain integrity over a high number of connection cycles and off-axis insertions.

The Neptune Series connectors have interchangeable and reversible contact inserts to suit specific needs.

These contacts are made of copper, silver-plated as standard but with gold-plating as an option.

Conductors are readily terminated to easily accessible pressure wire terminals.

Cable housings with ample wiring space slip over the conductors after termination, eliminating the cumbersome handling and seating of inserts with conductors attached.

The new Neptune Series is compatible with armoured and sheathed cable of IEEE45/UL1309, IEC, BS, DIN and JIC standard and unarmoured and flexible cables including S, SO, SOOW-A, W, G-GC.
