Circular connectors meet RoHS requirements

An Amphenol Industrial Operations product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Mar 15, 2007

Amphenol Industrial Operations' RoHS-compliant versions of its 97 series circular connectors are available in a wide variety of shell styles, contact patterns and accessory options.

Amphenol Industrial Operations has introduced RoHS-compliant versions of its 97 series circular connectors for low-cost general duty applications.

The 97 series connectors are widely used for applications in the automotive, robotics, heavy equipment, machine tool, welding and other industries requiring high-reliability interconnects with mechanical strength and environmental protection.

These low-cost connectors are available in a wide variety of shell styles, contact patterns and accessory options; solder or crimp terminations; threaded couplings; hard di-electric inserts and non-cadmium finishes.

The shell components are fabricated from high-grade aluminium for strength and protection.

Series 97 RoHS-compliant circular connectors have an operating temperature range of -55C to +125C, an operating voltage up to 3000V ac (RMS) at sea level and are both UL recognised and CSA certified.

Amphenol Industrial Operations, a manufacturer of high-reliability connectors and interconnection systems for industrial markets, has now reduced or eliminated hazardous and ozone depleting substances from many of its connectorsb including multi-pin and signal connectors in the Amphe-Lite and PT ranges and 97 series.

It will continue to offer the original standard versions of these connectors for customers not restricted by RoHS compliance requirements.
