Disc springs meet DIN 2093 requirements
Disc springs manufactured to international standard DIN 2093 are precision products produced to exacting standards.
Some dished washers purporting to be DIN 2093 components are proving to be "not fit for purpose" when used in disc spring pack applications Although both grades of product can look dimensionally identical, the use of inferior materials and a failure to comply with the DIN manufacturing standards means that component failures often occur

Springs meet demanding quality requirements
The Christian Bauer company produces components that are used across a wide spectrum of industry, including disc springs (with slotted variations), disc spring packs and wave springs.
This can lead to break-down costs and production delays as well as potential danger in safety critical applications.
There can be a huge price to pay for relatively modest savings in initial purchase prices.
Disc springs manufactured to international standard DIN 2093 are precision products produced to exacting standards, covering both material specifications and thicknesses, dimensional and load tolerances, together with presetting parameters.

Springs set the seal for automotive pumps
Precision parts supplied by Bauer Springs are used extensively in the manufacture of vane cell pumps as widely specified within the European automotive industry.
In addition, group 2/3 parts are either fine blanked or machined (usually turned).
Dished washers, or 'Belleville washers' being the established generic term named after the inventor Louis Belleville, have a visual similarity to genuine DIN 2093 disc springs, but they do not possess the same engineering qualities.
They can be perfectly adequate for achieving simple vibration-resistant joints with threaded studs and locknuts.
However, wherever specific design parameters of load and deflection must not only be achieved, but also maintained as in spring pack applications, then buyers should quote the DIN 2093 quality requirement on both their inquiries and orders.
Confirmation that genuine DIN 2093 components are being provided should also be checked on suppliers' delivery notes and order confirmation paperwork.
Dished washers are manufactured from lower grade materials, without adherence to close tolerances, resulting in high load deflection differences.
Since there is no pre-setting process, initial overall height dimensions are greater to compensate for loss of height during the first few spring deflections.
In addition, stamped parts in excess of 1.25mm thick can suffer upper edge fractures leading to eventual failure.
Christian Bauer guarantees that its disc springs, when requested, comply with DIN 2093 or any additional design criteria demanded in a customer specification.
Its products can be specified and used with confidence, even in conditions of continuous operation or intermittent high demand, in the knowledge that the necessary levels of manufacturing quality and control have been achieved.
