Baker Automation Electronics has for many years been providing sophisticated solutions for engineering problems experienced by companies not only in the UK but throughout Europe.

By combining its multidiscipline knowledge and experience, which includes electronics, precision controls, sensing, software programming and vision systems etc, the company can very often provide unique but economical solutions for the processing and manufacturing industries.

John Baker, Managing Director, says: "We are small enough to respond quickly to market requirements but maintain the enthusiasm for challenges posed by new or unusual demands".

"Our customers enjoy the benefits of big company results coupled to the value of small company service, which is backed up by a worldwide inter-trading operation of ideas, technical expertise and equipment".

"We pride ourselves on combining cutting-edge technology with original thinking to produce high performance products at realistic prices".

The advantage for OEMs is that they can obtain the commercial advantage of innovative operation or control for their machines, with the knowledge that all equipment is based on tried and tested technology, backed up by written guarantees covering performance and reliability.

online solutions for manufacturing or production problems can also be accommodated.

This could involve all aspects of metalworking, together with printing, textiles and a wide range of processing and handling requirements.

Very often machines, with years of mechanical life left in them, are saddled with outdated electronics or CNC controls.

For a modest investment compared with complete machine replacement, Baker Automation could provide a new control system which would itself feature the latest configurable technology, providing future proofing against changing patterns and requirements.

Typical equipment developed by the company is the Ubox machine control unit.

This features one of the most powerful microcontrollers currently available and uses two processors in a master-slave arrangement, providing extensive monitoring and control functions.

It features a configurable front panel and is housed in a case only 25mm thick, with customised keypads/panels available within hours to suit any application.

The Umodule interface and control unit covers every kind of digital, analogue and data-interfacing requirement, operating as a completer controller or signal processor.

The Ucut system provides computerised cutting for textiles or metals, and Ucam provides configurable line and area machine vision monitoring for measurement or fault/defect detection.
