The new DirtyDutyWD motor range features a new exterior surface coating that is bonded to its steel frame, and to the cast-iron endplates, conduit box, lid and base.
The coating is impervious to high pressures, extreme temperatures and caustic chemicals that can deteriorate painted motor components.
In addition, an FDA (US Food and Drug Administration) approved surface coating offers additional protection against the most severe washdown applications, and provides a level of protection suitable for marine applications such as IEEE 45 and USCG 259 (below-deck service).
All DirtyDutyWD motors feature a stainless-steel shaft extension preventing rusting of the shaft to the pulley or other driven equipment.
A noncontact, nonmetallic rotating labyrinth shaft seal prevents ingress of water or other debris, improving lubricant and bearing life.
Four stainless-steel easy-to-remove threaded drain plugs in each endplate allow proper drainage of condensation build-up, or any forced water entry into the motor, further prolonging motor life.
Additionally, Baldor's proprietary ISR (inverter spike resistant) copper magnet wire, with an extra coating of epoxy slurry, prevents insulation breakdown from harsh chemicals and moisture - providing extended winding life.
A gasketed and sealed conduit box and lid protects motor lead connections.
New Baldor DirtyDutyWD washdown-duty 1750rev/min motors are available in ratings from 0.373 to 7.5kW, in both US and European voltages and frequencies, in C-face versions, with or without base mountings.
Most US-specification motors are available from stock. Request a free brochure from Baldor UK ...
