Bayside Motion Group has announced the acquisition of Alstom Automation Systems Corporation of Canonsburg, Pennsylvania.

Bayside Motion Group has announced the acquisition of Alstom Automation Systems Corporation of Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, in the USA.

The new name of the wholly-owned subsidiary is Bayside Automation, LLC.

Alstom Automation is a $35 million annual revenue designer and builder of custom automation equipment, employing 125 engineers and skilled technicians, and located in a 120,000 square foot plant in Canonsburg, PA, which is just outside of Pittsburgh.

Originally part of the Westinghouse Automation Group, the Company has nearly 30 years of experience in applying leading-edge robotic, motion control, vision and software technology to automate assembly operations for Fortune 500 companies in the telecommunications, healthcare, automotive and consumer goods industries.

Bayside Motion Group's president, Howard Lind, stated that "Alstom Automation is a high-tech company, building sophisticated automated equipment, so they are a natural extension of Bayside's leadership position in precision motion systems and components.

Their extensive engineering and process capabilities fit perfectly with our motion control products and will enhance our strategy of developing automated distributed control platforms that will be a cornerstone of our concept of the Factory of the Future ("FOF").
