A new complete linear actuator package for moving loads at high speed that can be configured in multi-axis and gantry configurations is now available from Bayside Motion Group.

Comprising Bayside's new compact i-Drive with its new low-profile stages and high-performance servomotors, the company says that the package offers engineers a cost-effective solution for applications demanding dynamic performance combined with +/-5um bidirectional repeatability over travels ranging to 1500mm.

Characteristics include dynamic moments from 90 to 515Nm, low breakaway torques and screw speeds up to 60rev/s.

The i-Drive (a point-to-point servo drive) can be used for velocity and/or position control, is available in seven models with power ratings from 0.5 to 3kW and is CANbus compatible.

Its user-friendly front panel LCD and six function/programming pushbuttons allow for entering all the control, system and motor parameters, set points and error flags.

Stage construction features include precision square rails, a choice of either single or dual carriage models plus various screw pitch options.

Bayside brushless motors are supplied according to duty requirements.
