They are available in touchscreen and keypad versions with display sizes from 3.5 to 5.7in.
Despite their size, the new terminals provide both hardware and functionality that is ready to meet the future.
"Machine builders and integrators look for solutions that can be a part of their offer for several years", says Anders Nilsson, Marketing Manager at Beijer Electronics.
"With these new Exter terminals, we help them to find a lasting and reliable solution also for smaller HMIs".
At the heart of the Exter terminals is a high-performance Intel XScale processor.
"The market requires enough processing power and memory for any HMI solution, ranging from traditional industrial use to applications with Internet connectivity", explains Anders Nilsson.
The Exter terminals have been designed to easily integrate with automation systems and equipment - such as PLCs, variable speed drives and motion controllers - coming from the major brands on the market.
A wide range of drivers can be downloaded from Beijer Electronics homepage or via the Information Designer configuration software, which is used to configure the Exter operator panels.
The list of drivers is continuously updated according to needs and wishes of the market.
